he packed, contemporary calendar does not always leave room for healthy eating. Between the dozens of mails you need to get through, your kid who needs new shoes and the family function you need to attend, it’s not always simple to find time to cut up a salad or prepare a nutritious home-cooked meal.

Breakfast is an incomparably important meal. The body wakes up hungry for energy after a long night’s sleep, and without a nourishing meal most of us would be tempted to drink something high in sugar and caffeine. A great way to start the day off on the right foot is with a green shake; quick and easy to make, and packed full of nutritious ingredients.

RECIPE FOR A WINNING GREEN SHAKE, FULL OF ENERGY, VITAMINS AND MINERALS

1 bunch of  well-washed celery (“American”)

2 cubes of Ulva seaweed, or one flat teaspoon of “Multix”- a multi-vitamin containing 4 seaweeds (Ulva, Chlorella, Spirulina and Haematacoccus)

1 cm of fresh ginger root

1 cored green apple

1-2 pitted Medjoul dates

1 cup ice cubes

1 cup cold water

Place all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.

You can change up the ingredients as well:

For those who prefer it sweet you can add honey or silan. If you wish to increase the caloric value, add raw tehina or almond butter, and those who enjoy vegetable drinks can add beets or carrots.
